Kingfisher Leisurewear Ltd has an objective of being one of the most successful suppliers of personalised workwear, leisurewear and promotional clothing. We recognise that we will have some impact on the environment but concern for that impact will be a significant part of our decision-making in all aspects of the company's activities.
Kingfisher Leisurewear Ltd aims to:
Operate in ways that contribute to lowering energy and fuel usage, reducing carbon emissions, and reducing and recycling waste throughout the entire supply chain.
Analyse our activities to ensure any risk of pollution, contamination or other environmental impact is controlled and if possible eliminated.
Ensure, as a minimum, compliance with all applicable legal requirements, as well as meeting or exceeding other requirements appropriate to the company's activities.
Recognise our key stakeholders environmental interests and work with them to ensure that their interests are taken into consideration.
Consider key suppliers' environmental policies and credentials as part of the process for evaluation and selection.
Monitor and report internally and externally the environmental impact of the company's operations.
Strive for continual environmental improvement through the setting and reviewing of objectives and targets.
Kingfisher Leisurewear will only work with suppliers who adhere to the following principles:
Laws and Workplace
Manufacturers will comply with laws and regulations in all locations where they conduct business
Prohibition of Forced Labour
Manufacturers will not use involuntary or forced labour - indentured bonded or otherwise
Prohibition of child labour
Manufacturers will not hire any employee under the age of 14 or under the age interfering with compulsory schooling, or under the minimum age established by law, whichever is greater
Prohibition of Harassment or abuse
Manufacturers will provide a work environment free of harassment, abuse or corporal punishment in any form
Compensation and benefits
Manufacturers will pay at least the minimum total compensation required by local law including all mandated wages, allowances and benefits
Hours of Work
Manufacturers will assure that hours worked each day and days worked each week shall not exceed the legal limitations of each country in which apparel is produced. At least one day off in seven will be provided unless urgent business needs justify otherwise.
Prohibition of discrimination
Manufacturers will employ, pay, promote and terminate workers on the basis of their ability to do the job rather than on the basis of personal characteristics or beliefs
Health and Safety
Manufacturers to provide a safe and healthy work environment. Where residential housing is provided for workers, apparel manufacturers will provide safe and healthy housing.
Freedom of Association and Collective bargaining
Manufacturers to recognise and respect the right of employees to exercise their lawful rights of free association and collective bargaining
Environment
Manufacturers will comply with environmental rules, regulations and standards applicable to their operations and will observe environmentally conscious practices in all locations where they operate
Customs Compliance
Manufacturers will comply with applicable customs law and in particular will establish and maintain programmes to comply with customs laws regarding illegal transhipment of apparel products
Drug interdiction
Manufacturers will cooperate with local, national and foreign customs and drug enforcement agencies to guard against illegal shipments of drugs
